Ari
Dedicated football (soccer) fan, Ari has been playing since the tender age of 5. His passion took him to every corner of Europe playing for football clubs in France, Lithuania and Belgium among others. The world of football has no secret for him, he takes us behind the scenes with the intimate look of an insider. Ari also enjoys following and commenting on other sports such as tennis, basketball and rugby.
What is your definition of changemaker?
For me, a changemaker is a person who breaks the codes to feed their convictions and live their true version of life.
What is the biggest challenge you have experienced as a changemaker?
A few years ago, I left France to go play in Lithuania in a small city where I didn’t meet more than a handful of black people during my one year stay. I fought on the pitch with racist teammates to gain respect. And all that, I did to live out my passion.
How do you bring about change in your life, in your community, or in your field?
I train every day, even during the pandemic, sport for me is a therapy, all my life it has taught me on myself and the world I live in. For this reason, I am passionate about passing on the knowledge to younger athletes. For knowing your passion and living it are two different things. Everywhere I go, everyone I meet, I can’t help but share my way of living a fulfilled life as I love seeing others discover their own strengths.
What is your hope for the next generation of changemakers?
My hope is for the next generations to build on the work that my generation started, for them to reach even higher than us.
