Roc Nation’s Infinity Song gives soft rock a fresh twist

The soft rock band Infinity Song has gained a wave of new fans thanks to the viral TikTok success of their catchy track Hater’s Anthem. And as new listeners explore their impressive catalog, they’re discovering that this family band has deep musical roots. Abraham, Angel, Israel and Thalia “Momo” Boyd, are part of a larger musical family who relocated to the New York metropolitan area from Detroit in 2006. Having grown up in the church, the siblings who were no strangers to performing, soon joined the eclectic blend of street and subway performers that the city is known for. Finally, after years of perfecting their instrumentality and vocal prowess, Infinity Song was signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation in 2016.

But before their well deserved commercial success, the band’s members were a part of the Perfect Blend Group created in 2004 by John Boyd, the patriarch of the family. The ensemble consisted of all nine of Boyd’s musically gifted children and was clearly influenced by his love for gospel, classical and jazz music. That foundation has sustained in Infinity Song’s unique sound, with soulful and spiritual undertones still intrinsic in their music.

Infinity Song’s latest album Metamorphosis is a masterful showcase of not only their range, but also their unwillingness to fit squarely into any one musical box. The title track and entire project explore themes about tackling personal insecurities with the goal of ultimately reaching a place of self love. Arguably it’s most popular song, Hater’s Anthem, that features satirical lyrics, brought the band newfound attention when it went viral on TikTok with over 700 million views, and over 100 million likes.

The siblings are capitalizing on this moment and welcoming fans, old and new, to their ongoing worldwide tour that includes shows in North America, Europe and Australia. Infinity Song recently experienced a full circle moment by returning to New York City, where they were once street performers, to take the stage at the iconic Madison Square Garden for the very first time.
